Contribute to NewEngland.FYI
NewEngland.FYI is built on local knowledge. We cover six states, which means we can't be everywhere at once. The best tips come from readers who see things firsthand -- in their town, at their statehouse, on their trail.
If something's happening in your corner of New England that deserves attention, send it our way.
What makes a good contribution
Be specific about where. New England is a big region. "Something happening in Vermont" is less useful than "the Stowe selectboard just voted to..." The more precise the location, the faster we can act on it.
Include details. Dates, names, documents, links to agendas or public records. Concrete tips get published. Vague ones sit in the queue.
Timeliness counts. If a vote is coming up, a storm is approaching, or a restaurant just closed -- tell us now, not next week. We publish daily.
Local stories that travel. The best New England stories have a specific origin but resonate across state lines. A Maine lobster regulation, a Vermont school funding fight, a Rhode Island corruption case -- these matter to the whole region.
What happens next
We read everything. Not every tip becomes a story, but we take them all seriously. If you want to stay anonymous, just say so.
